On Test day, you will drive for around 40 minutes, half that time ‘independently’ usually following Sat Nav directions, you might be asked to do a controlled stop, and you will be asked to carry out one of 3 reverse parking manoeuvres, and you will asked a ‘tell me’ question at the start of the test and a ‘show me’ question on the move. You are allowed to make up to 15 driving faults but no serious or dangerous ones.
Great question, and not surprisingly one we get asked a lot here at Yello Driving School. It really depends on how fast you learn and how quickly you pick things up. As a guide, the DVSA state that the ‘average’ pupil should be test ready (ie safe!) after @ 40 hours of professional instruction so long as they get some (say an extra 20 hours) extra practice in with family and friends. We have had pupils pass with much less tuition than this, and others who have needed more.
Yes. We can usually help people with all sorts of ‘learning differences’, for example dyslexia and dyspraxia, enjoy the challenge this can often present, and have done so with success in the past.

Our Principal Driving Instructor
Our Head Instructor/Coach is Jon Duff (A.D.I.) Jon lives in Frodsham and is married with 3 children all of who he has helped to learn to drive. By his own admission Jon is a bit of a ‘petrol head’ having driven everything from on and off road motorbikes to Rallycars competitive Racecars and most recently Supercars. He is a former A.R.D.S Instructor at Oulton Park and a supercar instructor still in his spare time.
